40 hours, unless you are an SCN elected student.

What is the SCN? How do I become involved in the SCN?

The SCN is the Student Consultative Network. This network comprises the students elected to SSAA and Swinburne boards and committees. You need to be elected to a board or committee via the student elections process to be a part of the SCN.

I am graduating midyear, can I be part of the SCN?

It is prefered that students enroled for the whole year apply, however, students graduating mid year are also elegible. If you are elected to a position on a board or committee recognised as part of the SCN you can be part of the SCN.

Yes! All students can join in the Student Leadership and Volunteer Program.

I am taking a semester off, can I still be part of SLVP while I am not an enrolled Swinburne student?

Unfortunately, you can only access SLVP activities while you are a recognised, enrolled Swinburne student.

Where can I get more log sheets from?

Who can sign off on my volunteer work?

The person who signs off on your volunteer work is the person organising or in charge of the volunteer project.

I am studying at Prahran, can I do volunteer work at Hawthorn?

Yes. Irrespective of which campus you are studying at if there is something of interest on another campus you would like to participate in as part of the SLVP please do!

The last log sheets are due in at the end of the year in October, but I have a lot of volunteer work I am doing in November and December, can I count these hours towards SLVP for the next year?

Yes. So long as you keep accurate records on your student logsheet.

What is the Volunteer of the Year Award and Leader of the Year Award?

Students displaying outstanding volunteer and/or leadership participation are eligible to be chosen as the SLVP Volunteer or SLVP Leader of the Year by SSAA staff.

I do volunteer work with my local cricket team, can I count these hours towards the Program?

No. At this stage only volunteer work completed as part of the SLVP can be counted.

I have updated my contact details with Swinburne, will this automatically update my details with SSAA?

No. As SSAA is a separate company from Swinburne you will need to update your contact details with SSAA.
